This is similar to PROFECO but is used in problems with banking institutions and insurance companies.

from LPG do a search lapazgringos@yahoogroups.com and the word Qualitas for people claiming various problems with Qualitas. One or two claim the agent Lewis and Lewis apparently is not able to help in severe conditions.

I am an insurance agent and sell Mexico auto insurance (as well as homeowners, medical and SkyMed). I quit selling Qualitas a long time ago because of just these issues. I started having clients yelling at me and when I went to the repair shops & dealerships, was told that Qualitas is famous for dragging out claims and stalling months and months before paying. My clients count on me to give them good advice. So I dropped Qualitas and only sell insurance policies that are rated A or A- by AM Best. Yes, the rates are not as cheap but my companies come through for you. When people tell me they can get it cheaper with Qualitas I tell them go ahead, but you get what you pay for!

As you know my wife Roberta "Bird" Stover recently passed away from lung cancer. I am retired US Military so we had Tricare Standard insurance. In November we went to Blue Medical Net in Cabo San Lucas (across from Home Depot) The first visit was to the ER, the second visit was to Dr. Daniel Valazquez. He interviewed Bird and I for almost a hour getting prior history and background. He ordered blood work, lung x-ray, sonogram, two biopsy's, other tests I can not remember, and medicines. When we went to the counter to leave I glanced at the bill upside and saw 4,xxx or 5,xxx. Turning the bill right side up I saw that it was pesos, the real cost was only $ 404 USD. for everything!
Bird was a retired RN with a Masters degree and over 30 years hospital experience, she was so impressed with the doctors care and the rapid, friendly, professional help from all the staff that she said it was the best health care she had ever received in her life.
Dr. Valazquez would call our casa and or email and check up on Bird's condition, when he was unable to procure a medicine locally he had his family get the medicine in Mexico City and Air Ship it to Cabo. Our experience with Blue Medical Net has been nothing below excellent and I recommend them without reservation. We also have neighbor's that are using then with over the top recommendations.

Mine is with Grupa Inbursa, on Abasolo between Allende and Juarez (same block as the immigration office, a few doors toward Allende, 2nd floor). It was recommended by a Mexican friend. I've been paying a little over 1400 pesos /year for liability only. No claims yet, so I can't tell you how they perform on that.

A very easy way to insurance your card is if you have a mexican bank account,
bancomer and hsbc and some other banks have live insuranse, car insurance,
accident insurance for very low mothly payments... ask your bank
