Hiking Expedition to Indigenous Pictographs
Join Anibal Lopez on a hiking expedition to see indigenous pictographs.Anibal has been taking photos of indigenous pictographs for over 5 years and has created a photo book of some of these sites. He has been collaborating with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) for the official registration of the sites.Your participation in these expeditions will help raise funds to support the printing of the book for academic and cultural purposes. These expeditions are a part of Proyecto ProFaunaBaja, which is a society of naturalists and biologists dedicated to the ecological and cultural conservation in the region.
ProFaunaBaja is asking for a $75 donation to attend the expeditions.Expeditions consist of small groups of 6 – 8 people. The expedition will include water, and snacks and ground transportation from La Ventana and El Sargento. The sites are about a 35-45 minutes drive away and a 1 hour in each direction.Since these sites are protected under federal law, photos are not allowed of the pictographs or any artifacts found during the expedition.
Availability: Feb 8, Feb 16, and Feb 24 or whenever there is NO wind for groups of 6 - 8. Stephanie@ProFaunaBaja.org or call 612.150.6667
