The La Ventana Lord of the Wind registration and Tamale Cook Off has been moved to the El Sargento Concha. The Concha is just two blocks inland from the Baseball field.
The Registration for Lord of the Wind is 3-6pm. The Tamale Cook Off and dinner starts at 6pm.

Lord of the Wind, La Ventana Registration Tamale Cook off
Lord of the Wind and the La Ventana area High School will bring the first ever LOW registration and Tamale Cook Off to the area. This will all occur at the La Sorrento Concha.
Lord of the Wind registration and bib pick-up is from 3pm to 6pm followed by the first ever Tamale Cook Off. The Tamale Cook Off brings together some of the best cooks of the area trying to win the title of Lord of the Wind Tamale Champion. After judging by local dignitaries, the community will be treated to a full tamale dinner from the great chefs. The dinner will consist of the award winning tamales, rice and beans.
The Tamale Cook Off is a fund raiser for the local High School with all proceeds from the dinners, beer and coke going directly to the high school.
Just prior to the Cook Off all of the local kiters will have the opportunity to enter the Lord of the Wind Kiteboarding competition.
The Cook Off starts at 6pm and will be highlighted by local dancing and music. So come out to support the local kids.
The Lord of the Wind racing competition will commence on Jan 15th and run through Jan 18th

LORD OF THE WIND

LORD OF THE WIND: The international Kiteboarding competition scheduled for Jan 14th through Jan 18th is well underway and organizers are working hard to make it one of the finest races in 2015. The event will include four different disciplines of Kiting. First on Thursday Jan 15th we will start racing with Course style competition, including foil racing for the elite division. On Friday Jan 16th the competitors will switch to Slalom racing with speed and turning paramount to success. Saturday will see Freestyle competition and Sunday we switch to Big Air.
Not only will there be great racing but also great parties. Two new events have been added this year. On Jan 13th we will have our first party and sign up registration event in La Ventana. The La Ventana event will offer the local schools in the area help to raise money for the kids with a Tamale Cook Off competition. Then on Jan 14th our second party will mirror the La Ventana event but in Los Barriles where again we will crown the Tamale champion.
Friday night will showcase one of our sponsor’s beautiful resorts with our traditional Reggae under the stars party at Buena Vista Beach Resorts. Saturday night will return to the beach for a dancing in the sand party. Then the grand finally, the award celebration with our beautiful outdoor park as the backdrop.
We are pleased to announce that Robbie Dean has joined the Lord of the Wind team as Race Director. Robbie brings a great wealth of experience to LOW. Robbie has extensive experience in managing racing, including as Director of Racing for the St. Francis Yacht Club. Robbie also bring his organizational skill used within IKA and AKA.
