You CAN stream Netflix to your computer in Mexico.
If Netflix knows you are in Mexico (by your IP address) they won't let you stream movies. However there is an easy way around that (for about $60 per year). You download a VPN which is a "virtual private network." The VPN site lets you go online via a chosen city in the USA. Then for all intents and purposes, your computer is at home up north and there are none of the restrictions you come across down here.
The site I used was http://www.witopia.net/welcome.php However if you google it, there are hundreds of sites. I liked witopia because they had a person online to answer questions. We paid using Paypal. After downloading the VPN site, we were able to watch a movie immediately, The movie came through with absolutely no interruptions or buffering slowdowns. Annalisa

calling visa
lpg
We needed to call our Visa card office COLLECT to notify them that we were in Baja. The phone number is on the back of the card. We discovered if you dial 090 you get an English speaking operator and the operator dialed the collect number for us. (Visa's collect number goes to a automatic US dialed 800 number for them- slick.) Thanks for all the info, Carolyn & Tim

ATT viva mexico plan
ATT has a viva Mexico plan, the catch for us that live here is you can only use 40% of the minutes while in mexico to keep the service. but theminutes roll over so you do not lose them for when you are back in the USA. and it has 1000 minutes nights and weekends (with same restriction)

How To Dial 800 Numbers From Mexico - Have you ever wondered how to call a toll-free, US 800 number from Mexico? You can dial through an international service provider to call the following toll free prefixes as follows:
800 numbers -> Dial 001-880-then the number
866 numbers -> Dial 001-883-then the number
877 numbers -> Dial 001-882-then the number
888 numbers -> Dial 001-881-then the number
Keep in mind that these calls are not free like they are in the US; you will be charged at international direct dial rates. However, this is a handy thing to know if you ever need to cancel a credit card, change a flight, or reach someone in an emergency.
The cheapest and best solution is to get yourself a Voice over Internet phone service (also known as "VOIP" services), like Vonage, SKYPE or Net2Phone. These services will dial 800 numbers as if you were in the US. They will work through TelMex's Internet service and some types of satellite Internet services (but probably not HughesNet.) - Alan Thompson, alan@TodosSantosTechnologies.com, Todos Santos
