I bought my Formica counter at Madereria El Pino de La Paz, which I believe is the same place Chillin717 means. It's on Highway 1, first street to the right after the Bahia Dorada hotel if you're heading toward Todos Santos. There's a Caligas on the corner. They have preformed counters of laminate on fiberboard with a rounded front edge and 6 cm raised backsplash. As of April, the cost was around 150 pesos per linear foot plus IVA, at least for the one I chose. They have a wide selection of entire pieces stacked in the warehouse, not just little samples. You have to get an employee or two to move them for you, as they're quite heavy, but you get a better look at what you're buying
